— THIGHS —

Heavily dimpled, a block of cottage cheese
Fine silver and white thread branching across my surface
Old scars and closed wounds marking all those times razor frantically hit skin
Rippling layers with every step
Maybe this is why I wear those Old Navy “Super Skinny” jeans,
In hopes of
Smoothing out the dimples
Suffocating the silver threads
Covering up the scars
And compressing the ripples
As if none of them exist.
Because in what world would anyone ever find any of that desirable?
So for now
Walking around with denim blue legs
Will have to
Suffice.
